    Default Its

Do you see anything wrong with the sentence below? Is it clear to you that the first "its" refers to "force majeure"?

The Party facing force majeure must notify the other Party thereof within five days of its occurrence and use commercially reasonable efforts to remedy the situation and minimize its effects.

    Thanks a lot!

It's clear to me, but that those lawyers who insist on removing any possible doubt (thereby producing turgid and sometimes almost incomprehensible language )might prefer:

The Party facing force majeure must notify the other Party thereof within five days of the occurrence of such force majeure and use commercially reasonable efforts to remedy the situation resulting from such force majeure and minimize the effects of such force majeure.
    Allen165 and bhaisahab like this.
