The name of the day we take modules...please

Hi all,
I was wondering if you could kindly help me find the right term for this activity please. At the beginning of each new term students are required to take some modules (the core modules, and the options). What is the name for this activity? Say, in sentences like:
'When is the ..................?'
'The date for ....................... has not been announced yet...'

Is this the same as orientation?

Hi,
Thank you very much for the reply. A module, the way I've got it, is one of the individual elements of the programme or course we are doing. For example, for the MA TESOL one's required to take and pass, for one term, ESP, CA & EA, and Curriculum Designing modules. Actually, as you know, there's no other option but the students are supposed to confirm the modules they're supposed to pass via the internet. I just wonder what this process is called.
