Default using hard and hadly

Hi, could you tell me how to use hard and hardly as i dont quite to know how to use them correctly in a sentence. thansk you , bye!

"hard" is an adjective, it modifies a noun:

That test was hard.
It was a hard test.
This bench is hard.
It's a hard bench.

"hardly" is an adverb, and it modifies a verb:

I hardly ate a thing.
