    Default "like" adjectives

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me if I can add "like" to all the nouns to make them adjectives for example:-

    The figure was treelike.
There's a moonlike shape in the painting.

    Are there any exceptions?

    Thanks!

You could, but I'd only do so if there isn't already a perfectly good word for it.

Instead of 'treelike', you could use 'arboreal'.

Instead of 'moonlike', you could use 'lunar'.

I'm not sure that like(s)like works well.
