Default Giving Direction

Can any body tell me how to give direction(telling someone about the location of someones office/house). I always feel difficulty in using correct grammer while telling the direction to someone.

Break it down into individua clear steps:
Get out at station ..., leave by exit ..., when you come out turn right..., my house in the third street on the left...
Include buildings etc that will help them to orientate. Plan the exact route, draw it and then go through every stage. There's nothing much to say about the grammar- just use plain imperatives. If you are saying them, then say them slowly and pause, check understanding, go over them again to check, etc.

I'm going through the same problem. It has gotten better though, over the course of past few years because I work at a corner store and people would come in and ask for directions. You pick up a lot that way.

Few direction-giving English I've learned:

- Hang a left / right on whatever road / avenue

Belching Dragon Rd.. 1
-------------------------->>>------------------------
Your Car 1
1
1
*
1 Victoria Ave.
1
*
1
1
McDonald's

Legends: * - traffic lights

If you asked me for a direction to get to McDonald's, I'd say like the following:
...once you're on Belching Dragon Rd., keep straight until you hit Victoria Ave. Hang a right on Victoria, and after second set of lights you'll get to McDonald's.

Anything else to add / correct, please feel free.

Note: spaces don't work at all here. My little drawing didn't turn out as it should be. Any suggestions?
