Default get to know + the Present Perfect

    Hello.

I have just been thinking of a fictitious situation where I can say, 'I have got to know how little I need to live' meaning 'I have realized how little I need to live'.

And that seems confusing to me as it can be understood as if I said 'I have to know ...'.
In the USA they use the form gotten and if I said 'I have gotten to know how little I need to live', there would be no misunderstanding, at least to the best of my knowledge.

In Britain they don't use that form. So I am just curious how would they say that there?
If what I have wrote isn't used in informal conversations, I would be delighted to know how they say that .

Also and as usual I would be grateful if you would correct any mistakes you might find in this post.

    Thanks, Alex.
