Ex:
Chastity before marriage is considered as a virtue in some religions.
The church requires celibacy of its clergy.
Abstinence from alcohol can be beneficial for some people.
Q: What is the grammatical explaination for missing "the" in front of the nouns, chastity, celibacy, and abstinence? Isn't it talking about a particular kind of chastity, celibacy, or abstinence which is before marriage and of a certain type of people?
Thanks in advance.
