Can someone tell me if these questions are gramatically correct?
Hi,
I got this question on an exam;
I __________ the clothes on Wednesday.
A - Wash
B - Washes
C - Washs
D - Washed
from what I know, there are 2 possible answers for this question, and I think that the most accurate one in this case is the answer " D ", " washed "
Now, the person who posted the question says that this sentence is a present simple sentence and the correct answer is " A ", " wash "
I argued with him that as he didn't add a plural " s " to the word Wednesday, this indicates a single Wednesday and thus the sentence is closer to the past tense.
So, who of us is right?
I would be so thankful if a teacher answered this

I agree with you. Clearly B and C are incorrect. D fits perfectly:
I washed the clothes on Wednesday.
If it were A, it should read:
I wash the clothes on a Wednesday.
or
I wash the clothes on Wednesdays.
