    Default swim/swimming ?

    "We saw some of the dolphins swim/swimming/swam in the river." Are all three tenses are possible ?

    'Swimming' is the best choice.
    'Swim' is also possible, but would go better with the verb 'watch' rather than 'see'.
    (i.e. We watched some of the dolphins swim in the river.)
    'Swam' is ungrammatical here.
