I have been asked to analyze the form of this sentence, in particular the word 'outraged'. Focusing on the word just as a vocabulary item, is it an adjective?

As the past of a larger sentence is was + outraged the form of (was + past participle) as a passive?

I am confused and need help? Any answers greatly appreciated.

P.s In the sentence 'I am going on a trip' is the form present continuous? 'Going on' isn't a phrasal verb....or is it?
