Why do we have so many different spellings of the Libyan leader?
Gathafi,Kadafi,Gadafy,Gaddafi ,Qaddafi, etc
Also, the name of the most famous Egyptian pharaoh:
Tutankhamun,Tutankhamon,Tutankhamen,
People are unsure about the how to spell words that are not originally written in in the Roman alphabet, so they do the best they can.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
Huh. I thought the most famous pharaoh was spelled Ramses II.
Or maybe Cleopatra.

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
