Default Question on a statement (4)

    Hi teachers,
According to this statement, 'The water was cold on his tired legs.'
Is the following question correct? 'How was the water on his tired legs?
Is it also possible? 'What was the water like on his tired legs?'

    Thanks in advance

    "How did the water feel?"
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.

One more question please. Can I use the verb 'feel' in the question, even though I have the verb 'was' in the statement?

    Best,

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
So for this question, 'How do you feel today? Both answers are possible:
    a) I feel tired.
    b) I am tired.

An this question too? 'How are you today?'
    a) I feel tired.
    b) I am tired.
