Prize winner, help please

Hello,

I have to write a short biography of a musician; during 2006-2011, he won 5 first prizes at international competitions.
I think, I should write:


"Percussionist and composer XX was born in Krakow (Poland) in 1990.

2006-2011 he won five 1st prizes at international percussion competitions.
In 2009 XX became a student of the xx where he is pursuing a double major in Applied Percussion and Composition".

His debut marimba album “Incoming” was released in 2011.

Do you think everything is OK?

If you are talking about a period of time from one date to another, we don't usually use "during", we use "between". So "Between 2006 and 2011, he won first prize five times ..." (I prefer that to "he won five first prizes").

Otherwise, I think it's fine.
