I am currently working on assembling a college magazine and, after a recent confrontation with my teacher, I'm questioning my knowledge and wondering if I am correct in saying that there is no apostrophe in the word photos.
I understand that apostrophes may be used in place of letters (ie: didn't as opposed to did not), and the word photo is short for photograph; could an apostrophe be used to replace the 'graph' part of the word?
I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question!![]()
i think you're on the right track.....![]()
There's no need for an apostrophe on 'photos'- we don't use one in the singular (photo).![]()
At least you asked the question. Most people can't be bothered to think about it and just stick their apostrophes in at random. Well done you.Originally Posted by Nudist
