Hi, today i casually see this structure in my lesson and i cannot make it out, can you explain it to me
here it is

" why does the man want to be read to"

As i know, i just see the structure such as want to do something but this is not, is that passive voice ?

Yes, it's passive.

A: "It would be very nice if you would read this to me."
B: I wonder why A wants you to read to him.
C: I don't think it has to be me. I think anyone can read to him and he'll be happy.
B: Okay, why does he want to be read to at all?
C: He's just had eye surgery and it will be a while before he can read by himself.
