I am still not sure when to use other or another. Let me give you some examples and tell me which one is right and why?

I am fed up with him. I want to see another man.
I am fed up with him. i want to see other man.

I don't like this jacket. Can i try other one?
I don't like this jacket . Can i try another one?

I want her to put on other color.
I want her to put on another colour.

Also, as far as I know other should be followed by plural noun. If if it case, if i say i want to see other type of movie, is it wrong?
