Post Wanting to confirm the meaning

Hello,
I want to confirm the meaning of the sentence attached herewithin.
"Turkish police didn't think for a second about beating up people from Turkish television to stop them filming."
Does it mean that Turkish police beat the Turkish television people.
Thanking you.

Yours sincerely,
Gautam Pal.
