    She is talking about her ex-husband who's dead. Can "the cold" mean trouble or difficulty from its nuance?

    ex-wife- So I assume you've read lost delusions. It was pretty much the story of his life.
    Tourtured young guy too smart for his own good,doesn't really fit in.
    I guess I thought that I was going to be the one to bring him in from the cold. You know what?Don't ever think that you can save those tortured young artists.
