Group work - Pros and Cons????

Hi there,

Could you please tell me the pros and cons of group work in classroom, esp. in teaching English and how could I best integrate group work (collaborative learning) in classroom?

Here are a couple
Pros- uses class time effectively because it maximises student production; gives students control and responsibility for their learning
Cons- Can be harder for the teacher to monitor and can lead to domination by a few; some students from some cultural backgrounds may react negatively to it
