Hello Valtango Only a guess: but could it have said "software is uncountable"? In other words, you don't say "a software", "two softwares"; you just say "software" or "the software". MrP PS: I must disagree with you slightly. My AOL software is distinctly "unaccountable", in every sense of the word...

Do you mean this question? If so, it says 'uncountable'. http://www.usingenglish.com/members/...php?test_id=71 If it is not from here, can you tell me where you saw it because I can't find any other example. Many thanks

You are so right. I copied and pasted it into a word document, and somewhere on the way it became unaccountable, I don't know how that happened. Having returned to the link, I see indeed it is uncountable, which makes much more sense. Thanks, I had begun to think I was really stupid. Of course software is uncountable. Thank you for solving yet another problem for me.

You're welcome- I was worried because I do make typos and there's no spell check in the quizzes and tests when I make them. If you do spot any mistakes, please send me the quiz or test ID and I'll correct them.
