Hi,everybody
Would you help me with this
How many categories do we have in English?
(Of course I know five of them {noun phrase, verb (p), adjective (p), adverb (p),
prepositional (p)}) what else?

When you use "categories" what do you mean?
If you mean "parts of speech" then there are traditionally eight in English:
1. nouns
2. pronouns
3. verbs
4. adjectives
5. adverbs
6. prepositions
7. conjunctions
8. interjections
Some might add "determiners" to this list though not me since I prefer parts of speech to be based on single words.
I'd shorten the list down to six:
1. nouns and pronouns
2. verbs
3. modifiers (adjectives and adverbs)
4. prepositions
5. conjunctions
6. interjections
