few X little
I understand the difference among few / a few X little / a little.
But when it comes to plural uncountable words such as clothes?
- Do I say:
a) I have only a few clothes.
b) I have only a few pieces/articles of clothing. ?
(I have sent this message 3 times, but the message isnīt diplayed in the forum!)
You can't say I have only a few clothes, but you can say I have only a few articles of clothing. You can say you have some clothes or that you don't have much to wear. You can also say you don't have much clothing.
Re: few X little
There's also, "I've a few things (meaning, clothes)."
& I've few things = not very many. ;-(
I've a few too many things.
