I've seen "at every turn" to mean "whenever or wherever you go", and is "around every turn" interchangeable with it?

"around every turn" doesn't sound natural to me in that sentence. Was it written by a native speaker?

It's a while since I've seen it but I thought those lines were from the spoken introduction somewhere near the beginning of The Two Towers, part 2 of the LOTR film trilogy, and I was under the impression that much of the narration was taken directly from the books.

I think I should give up tonight - that's the second time I've been utterly and completely wrong!

It's from a Korean middle-school English textbook, so it may have been written by a Korean, and I think "at every turn" is proper instead.
