I am working on a title for a scrapbook page and my grammer skills are a bit rusty. Would this be correct?
'Dinners Ready'
'Dinner is Ready' is a bit too stuffy sounding for the mood of the page.
Thanks SO much!!![]()
"Dinner's Ready!" is perfectly acceptable for a scrapbook. Dinner's being a contraction of Dinner and is. Of course that contraction is used colloquially, but you wouldn't use it any formal writing unless it is quoting someone.
He told John to call him when their dinner is ready.
John said, "Dinner's ready."
