Please help
I am reading a book and my english undestanding isnt too good.
This is what i just read.
"About 4 years ago, a year after my operation, I started looking for a new sporting activity and came across a free self defence class offered to the community. Soon afterwards, as a direct consequence I started taking kickboxing classes".
My question is - What happened first the kickboxing classes or him coming across a free self defence class?
sorry but my ellsh is terrible.

As this is an English language form where people come to discuss correct forms, please avoid textspeak such as 'thks' and 'ur', and use a capital letter for the pronoun 'I'.
It could be that the free self-defence class that he came aross was the kickboxing class that he started. That is not clear from the passage.
However, it is clear that he came across the free class before he started the kickboxing class. Whether or not they were the same thing, the passage states "soon afterwards (i.e., after coming across the free class) [...] I started taking kickboxing classes".
