Default remain and stay

Dear teachers,

We can say " to main/stay calm". We can say " to remain unconvinced". Could you please kindly explain if we say " to stay unconvinced"?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you in advance.

Jiang

Dear tdol,

Thank you very much for your reply. Now I see. It's something to do with idiomatic use.
