Verb 'measure'

Good evening!

I would like to know if it is OK to use the word "measure" in the following sentence:

"In this field, it is defined what aspects the query aims to measure,in other words, what results will be presented."

I work in an IT company and, in the sentence above I'm describing a software tool. The name of this particular field is "measuring" but I'm not sure if "measure" is the most appropriate term...

A number of your sentences feel a lot wordier (and less natural) than they can be.
"In this field, it is defined" would read much better as "This field defines."

Does it display data? Does it calculate?

Maybe you could describe more about what this field is used for.

Yes, it displays data. Maybe 'displayed' is even better than using "presented"...

That case of writing "it is done, it is defined etc" is a language transfer error I usually make (from Portuguese to English).
I agree with you, "this field defines" is a thousand times better!

Well, don't worry. I have no ability to speak your language at all, and at least I can understand what you mean to say.

This field defines the intent of the query and indicates what data will be displayed.

is that about right?

Yes, that's the point! :)

Consecutively, I had typed [The following example will measure the "Quantity of tickets"]
But now I think that "calculate" or "determine" would sound more natural in this case, too.
