How would you paraphrase it in plain English? The main idea is understood, but I'm afraid all the intricacies and subtleties may be slightly over my head.

Yes, it is convoluted!
Darya is a remarkable woman, therefore she does profit. For her not to profit she would need to be less remarkable.
