    Default in order of age

"The boys took lunch in order of age".
In this case, the oldest boy took lunch first
    and the youngest last, correct?

To me, it really isn't clear whether they did it in ascending or descending order. In, say, a school, I think the oldest might get priority- it would depend on the power structure.
