"It is prevented that..."

Is this sentence grammatically correct?

For example, do the following sentenses have the same meanings ?
Heat is prevented from damaging the device.
It is prevented that heat damages the device.

No, it's not correct. You could say 'It prevents heat from damging', but that would slightly change the meaning and suggest that something specific stops the damage.
