    Default Covered by waters.

    Define Peninsula.

Peninsula is a piece of land covered by water on three sides and by a land on one side.

Is the meaning almost same when we use bordered by instead of covered by?

No, 'covered by' is completely wrong.

No. It 's almost surrounded by water, but is joined to another, larger, piece of land.

There is the mock-poetic 'bathed by'/'lapped by', used to excess by travel brochures. [Note that this 'lapped by' is nothing to do with Jensen Button; it's the sort of lapping that a cat does when drinking milk.]
