    (Not a Teacher)

    1) "I really like him." --- You like him a lot.
"I like him, really." --- You honestly like him.

    2) "I want you to know." --- You want to tell him something.
"I want to (get to) know you." --- You want to develop a relationship with him.

I am sure you did not intend it, Tanzilia, but this sounds very much like an instruction from a teacher to a pupil. 'Please explain ...' would give a better impression to the volunteers who give up their free time to help people in these forums.
Context is important. Please provide enough for us to be able to deal effectively with your question.
Your thread title should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.

    NOT A TEACHER

Please! Please! May I add my two cents? You have asked a question about my favorite word.

This is only my opinion based on what I have read.

    1. "I like him." If you want to emphasize the "liking," you can add "really." It makes the "liking" stronger. For example:

"I really appreciate your help." (It equals something like "very much.")

    2. Tom: I like him.

Mona: I do not believe you.

Tom: I like him, really! = Believe me. (OR: Really, I like him. Maybe you do not believe me, but I am telling the truth!)

    *****

HAVE A NICE DAY! I really (very much) liked your question. Really! (I'm telling you the truth!)
