    Default tail questions

    Hi All,

Can I use the tail question in this way (for example):

there were many people in the party, weren't there?

or there is more common way to say that

    Thank you very much

Your example is a good use of a tag question, Foreigner. It shows that you think there were indeed many people at the party.

If you have no idea how many people were there, then use 'Were there many people at the party?'

And if you don't think there were many people, use the opposite tag: 'There weren't many people at the party, were there?'
