    which answer is correct? mine or me. My answer is mine

    Who does this belong to?

    It belongs to me.
    It's mine.

    You could answer only "me" or you could say "That's mine" but not only "mine."

    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
