    Default go to the bad

    "He went to the bad."
Does this mean "He began to live an immoral life"?
    Thank you.

I have never heard this before. Are you sure you heard it right?
My guess is you probably heard "to go to bat for". In that case it means to support someone all the way, to stand up for someone else, take side, defend.
