Default She (has) put me to flight.

Hi. I got rid of the weird part with fate and changed it. Now I'm just wondering whether present perfect would be better than past simple. What do you think?

She (has) put me to flight.
She did it at one point in the past and since that time, the boy has been running away for several years. But, just a few days ago he decided not to run away anymore. Any idea?

The problem is that 'put someone to flight' is a pretty uncommon thing to say anyway and is, in my opinion, used only for decisive battles. The Romans fell on the Saxons and the ford and put them to flight.

It doesn't matter what tense you use; "She puts/put/has put me to flight" does not sound natural to me.

In fact, it is :) They are both ringleaders. And one group of these bandits is chasing another. Then I could say 'she has put me to flight'?

How about 'She chased me away'?

But (I'm not sure it's correct) it sounds to me like 'to be chased away from some restricted area'... But he had fled and she was not aware of that at first. Then she started to chase him for a long time.

You say that at first she didn't know that he had run away, so maybe she did not actively make him do so, she did not "put him to flight" as per your first post. Perhaps initially it was more something that he felt the need to do.

Possibly: "I had to flee her", "I needed to get away from her", "I took flight because of her", "because of her I had to flee/get away".
