    Default Familiarity breeds contempt

I am trying to find an idiom that is the opposite in meaning to the idiom "familiarity breeds contempt". Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hmm- not an easy one. 'Better the devil you know' can be used with something approaching that meaning.

I've been thinking...... perhaps "home is where the heart is"? What do you think?

I think "absence makes the heart grow fonder" is actually similar in meaning to 'familiarity breeds contempt", if you think about it, rather than its opposite. In both cases, the implication is that affection is greater with distance.
