Hi teachers,
According to this contex: (It is from a CD. The person that narrates it, is a doctor) 
So next day, at seven o’clock, I came to the shop in a cab. There were not very many people on the road, because it was early in the morning. In November it is dark at seven o’clock in the morning, and I could not see the shop very well. Iwaited five minutes. A postman walked past. Then the door of the shop opened, and the creature, Merrick, came out.

Are these questions and answers suitable?
a) What did the doctor do the day after? He came to the shop in a cab.
b) Were there a lot of people on the road? No, there weren't.
c) What was the reason not to see a lot of people on the road? Because it was early in the morning.
d) Why couldn't the doctor see the shop very well? Because in November it is dark at seven o'clock in the morning.
(The answer uses the simple present because it expresses a fact, doesn't it?)
e) Did the doctor wait for a long time before he could see Merrick? No, he didn't. Only for five minutes.

(The answer uses the simple present because it expresses a fact, doesn't it?) Yes, but it would be fair to accept the simple answer "Because it was dark".
e) Did the doctor wait for a long time before he could see saw Merrick? No, he didn't. Only for five minutes. It's a closed question, so expect to simply see "No" as the answer.

Of course, we use “come” when the person making the request is at the destination. that's why it's wrong, isn't it?

I believe we use went both because we are not at the shop and because we are reporting what someone else did (backshift).
