as if told
Hi there,
1) Shall I use as if told or as told in the sentence below.
2) Does 'saying' collocate with 'jingle' or is there any other alternative?
The spiritual leader’s wise saying defines the essence of religion, and jingles as if told today.

Some of us have lives to lead in between posting responses here. Please have a little patience - and try to follow forum guidelines about capital letters and textspeak.
The spiritual leader’s wise saying defines the essence of religion, and jingles as if told today. I'd rephrase the underlined part as, "and resonates as freshly as if uttered today".
Context is important. Please provide enough for us to be able to deal effectively with your question.
Your thread title should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.
