Omission od 'that' ; It is true that she met the guy.
I've been wondering about the omission of that in
the two kinds of sentences like below:
1. It is true that she met the boy.
2. It was Tom that saw a lion.
In most English grammar books in Korea, we do not
omit 'that' in sentence 2, while we do in sentence 1.
Is it correct?

Yes, but we'd normally say "It was Tom who saw the lion".
