In many language-learning literatures, distinction is always made between L1 and L2 learning (or acquisition). But has anybody so far "claimed" that the process(es) invloved in L1 and L2 acquisitions are the same? I'd like to know because, if there is, I'd like to consult it for a possible research. Please point me to these resources if you know them. Thank you very much.

Many methods claim to replicate the conditions under which L! was acquired as reasons for the superiority of their method, but this rarely stands up to analysis in my opinion.
