Vacation VS Holiday

What is the different between these two words? Can I use it interchangeably?

How about the long day-off for the student? Like during the summer. What do you call that? Summer vacation or Summer holiday?

It depends- British speakers tend to use 'holiday' where Americans would say 'vacation'. You can use them both. When it's a single day for religious or historical celebrations, then call it a holiday.
