Default Some saying about dead cat

A few months ago my friend asked where my (my parents' to be exact) store is, and I told him it was right beside Tim Hortons. (Canada's dominant coffee and donut franchise) He laughed and said something about dead cat... I can't recall what he said word to word, but it was something like "You can't spot a dead cat without noticing Tim Hortons".

As I didn't quite hear the full sentence I asked him what he meant by dead cat and he said he meant that Tim Hortons are everywhere and he couldn't possibly know where my store was with just that much information.

Does this stuff about dead cat sound familiar to you? Or can you at least make an educated guess as to what he could've said? Thank you very much.

I've never heard it. Presumably, dead cats are suposed to be a common sight.

Hmm... then the expression might be either exclusive to North Americans (or even Canadians), or I was too far off in reconstructing what he said. But I'm pretty sure I heard him saying 'dead cat'.

I dont go to the same class with him anymore, and perhaps I should just grab anyone random in my school and ask about the expression.

Thanks Tdol for confirmation. At least I now know it's not as common of an expression as I thought.

Could it have been a 'dead rat'?
