Analyzing the function of words

I am learning to placing words into their functions, and I was wondering if the word 'this' is being used
as an adjective modifying the word 'form'?

This used in this way is generally considered to be a determiner.

May I most respectfully note that "this" is an "adjective" IF your teacher follows the traditional 8 parts of speech:

verb, adverb, noun, pronoun, adjective, preposition, conjunction, interjection. Under this "old" system, articles are

also classified as "adjectives."

Few grammarians follow the 'old' system. Chalker and Weiner note that determiners ".... not only differ from the class of adjectives in meaning, but must also normally precede ordinary adjectives in noun phrase structure.
