    Default an armed military

Is he requiring the Palestinians not have an armed military, or military aircraft?

Isn't military armed forces? So, why is the word armed being used while the word military already armed?

The Free Dictionary states that; military - definition of military

I would say it's a matter of equipment scales. There's a big difference between a military force equipped only with pistols and rifles [sometimes referred to as a "gendarmerie"] and one equipped with the heavy armour and artillery which confer a full "war-fighting" capability.

It does sound a bit odd, though.

Presumably, it would refer to the ability to lob rockets and other ordnance into Israel.
