Use of the word "thus"

I have a boss who loves to use the word "thus", a lot! Of course, every time he uses it, he puts a comma in front and a comma behind...no matter where he uses it. I want to challenge the use of so many commas and need some education in this area. Can you help me?

If it's the first or last word, then there's room for nly one comma. Otherwise, he's perfectly right to put commas around it. There is a tendency to use fewer commas so you will see it without them, but many would agree ith him for doing it.
