    Fewer + plural noun- There were fewer people at the party than expected.
    Less + uncountable noun- There's less time this week than last week to get it done
    Nowadays, though, many people say 'less people', so the difference is becoming less noticeable. Also, we use less + adjective (less expensive, etc)
