1-We know him at the office.
2-We are talking about him at the office.
3-We know John at the office.
4-We were talking about John at the office.
Can one ever use these sentences if "him/John at the office" in them is supposed to mean "how he/John is at the office"?
In such a reading, "at the office" would be postmodifying "him/John".
Gratefully,
Navi.
