a caption or catchphrase?
Hello,
What do you call the sentence (or maybe it is not even a sentence) which is on the ads, such as "just do it!" or "Aim high, Airforce"?
Is this a caption, a catchphrase, or title?
Thank you,
Higurashi

Re: a caption or catchphrase?
I'd use 'slogan'. A caption would be underneath a picture and a catchphrase is a line used by a comedian or TV personality as a signature phrase.

Re: a caption or catchphrase?
Thank you, Tdol.
I understand that Nike's one and Air Force's will be called as 'slogan'.
However, if it is like, "this aroma will invite you to the dreamland...." ( I just made up the sentence), do you still call it a slogan? Is there any words that describe the phrase which are made for the advertisement?
Thank you,
Higurashi

If it's a one-off, then it could be a caption, IMO.
