    If we find that we spend a disproportionate amount of time talking about a particular pursuit, be it work, golf, food or alcohol, it is a sign that we are beginning to turn this pastime into a vice. Rather than controlling it, it is beginning to take hold of us.

    Also Odessa, you can also use 'such as' or 'for example'.
